Turmeric Cuisine of India was opened in 2022 by Mahesh and Shila Bamane, along with partner Mandeep. Mahesh has a hospitality degree and over a dozen years of experience in restaurants and facility management, previously running Lotus Curry House in Novato, CA. Shila brings extensive cooking knowledge, while Mandeep contributes leadership skills and cooking expertise to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
15. What makes turmeric spice special, and why did they choose this name?
Turmeric is a unique spice known for adding color, flavor, and nutrition to foods. It has a deep, golden-amber-orange color and many healthy properties. As a main ingredient in curry that gives it the characteristic yellow color, turmeric is made from a root in the ginger family. The restaurant chose this name because turmeric represents their commitment to authentic, flavorful, and healthy Indian cuisine that provides both taste and nutritional benefits.
